15/05/2016 - Pizza & a view
Well hello again dear reader. I've decided that I should be spending more time on actual writings - as well as my 'hilarious' videos. But it takes a while to come up with the right words...
Today started with my new favourite thing - smoothies - off of Whole Foods. They're made on the spot. Today mine had actual kale in it - which is why I'm assuming it was the colour of sludge. But as we knew pizza was in the offing - just a pain au chocolate was all that was needed food-wise to kick start the day.
We met some other pizza fans by the statue in North End (we're staying in South End) - and it wasn't long before our guide Martin arrived. There was a minor hilarious episode as some people who had just stopped for a rest became embroiled in our tour. And judging by their proportions it was easy to assume they were fans of a pizza...
Lovely walk around North End - some history - and some delicious pizza as well. Former colleagues keep your eyes peeled for some footwear you may be familiar with in a 'The Bill'-type end credit sequence in the video
This evening we went to the 52nd floor of the Prudential Building, timed nicely for dusk, and the view was spectacular - my photos don't do it justice.
Then to get back home, as we're knackered, through the miracle of modern technology we got an Uber cab - I think they may be my favourite new thing. And we shared. With a stranger. I know! Anyhow - happy to report that Madeline wasn't an axe murderer, and both her and the driver were lovely. And made some additional restaurant recommendations. So that's something to consider for tomorrow.
Well - that's your lot for today in Boston. I'll catch you tomorrow.
Enjoy the film...
