Grey London
Hello dear reader. I have popped to Londinium for a few days.
Yesterday I had a catch up with a fancy London brand agency - and after watching the Rugby World Cup final this morning we headed in to town.
As an aside - I cannot believe it was 16 years that I saw England win the Rugby World Cup in Australia (tho I was doing hospitality in a swanky box as opposed to being a punter). And we temporarily mislaid one of our competition winners. We were sure we’d easily find him as “he’s wearing an England shirt”. Well unsurprisingly we didn’t. But he later turned up at the hotel. Phew. Diplomatic incident avoided.
So we trundled over to the O2 (or the North Greenwich Dome, as I remember it from my London 2012 working days) as there’s a newish shopping outlet type affair. It was rather nicely done (but there is a Harvester restaurant, which we assume is there mainly for when older people go to watch Strictly Come Dancing there, as opposed to the Little Mix fans).
After a coffee we thought it’d be a great idea to catch the Thames Clipper back (rather than boring old tube) - which of course it was - however it was at this point it really started to chuck it down. But we plucked up our British grit and literally weathered the weather and hopped on board. The ferry trip is like a re-enactment of the opening titles of Eastenders as you wind your way around heading from the Dome to Westminster. And despite the weather (and for me, unexpected speed of said clipper) took plenty of pics.
Tomorrow we’re heading up west (again, like they do in Eastenders) for haircut in swanky Mayfair and a spot of Christmas shopping (glacé fruits for Darren’s mums Christmas cake).
So please enjoy todays video of the river trip!
