Wrap-up part I

Well hello dear reader for the final hurrah en France.

My time here is nearly at an end - so at the end of todays blog you will find yourself with a little cornucopia of pics n vids from my time in Honfleur.

Big thanks to Fiona for graciously loaning me her apartment.  And thanks to Darren who popped over for a few days of eating out, landing at the wrong airport and helping me clean up the apartment (by which I mean he cleaned as I was only allowed simple tasks)!

Well to bring you up to speed after I collected Darren from the airport - we mooched about Honfleur, bobbed over to Deauville/Trouville (again on the bus - as I had a convenient car park space at Fionas) and had some delicious meals out.  Interestingly at La Tortue I looked back at my photos from 2014, 2013, 2017 and 2019 - and I pretty much always have the same thing.  Duck terrine, pork medallions and some sort of mousse for dessert.  So clearly they’re happy with how their menu looks!!

At Bistro du Port my fave is Soupe de Poissons and moules a la creme.  So it came as no surprise that I had that.

And in a break with tradition we went to a NEW restaurant - which has apparently opened recently.  and I must say they do a fine Pizza and dessert!  I even had a lager!

Oh - and the weather has turned a bit today.  Slightly annoying.

But not frankly as annoying as the text and email barrage from Brittany Ferries. There’s a fault with my ship apparently.  HOWEVER - good news - I AM (after a short Twitter exchange) able to travel.

However when I booked the ferry - I never really thought of the time - so essentially its check in from 7.  Leave apartment 6.15ish - so early morning alarm call for yours truly will be circa 5am - so I can finish cleaning and tidying leaving myself enough time to make sure I have unplugged everything, locked everything and packed everything.  Phew.

So - as the video says I hope you’ve enjoyed sharing a bit of France with me. And I will see you soon!

À Bientot.
